G3–G5 · The Successor Project
For Grades 3–5: take the role of a successor, identify business problems, compare choices and propose improvements.
Who visits, what is offered and where does the money go? Examine customers, products and costs, then explain the problem you see.
Practice: Explain an operating problem
Where should limited resources go first? Discuss pricing, products and operations, hear other views and explain a choice.
Practice: Compare options and trade-offs
Use role participation, discussion, presentation and making to turn observations into suggestions. Explain the proposal in project work and presentations, then reflect on the decisions.
Practice: Present suggestions and reasoning
Students enter a business situation, understand the problem through roles and group discussion, and try making choices. Speaking and making allow their ideas to be seen and heard by others.
Look for whether a student can explain the problem, compare options and give reasons for an improvement. Project work and presentations bring that reasoning into a proposal others can discuss.
